Variations on a Theme: A Bibliography on Approaches to Theorem Proving Inspired From Satchmo

چکیده
This articles is a structured bibliography on theorem provers, approaches to theorem proving, and theorem proving applications inspired from Satchmo, the model generation theorem prover developed in the mid 80es of the 20th century at ECRC, the European ComputerIndustry Research Centre. Note that the bibliography given in this article is not exhaustive.

A short introduction to two approaches in formal verification of security protocols: model checking and theorem proving
In this paper, we shortly review two formal approaches in verification of security protocols; model checking and theorem proving. Model checking is based on studying the behavior of protocols via generating all different behaviors of a protocol and checking whether the desired goals are satisfied in all instances or not. We investigate Scyther operational semantics as n example of this...
متن کاملSATCHMO: A Theorem Prover Implemented in Prolog
Satchmo is a theorem prover consisting of just a few short and simple Prolog programs. Prolog may be used for representing problem clauses as well. SATCHMO is based on a model-generation paradigm. It is refutation-complete if used in a levelsaturation manner. The paper provides a thorough report on experiences with SATCHMO. A considerable amount of problems could be solved with surprising effic...
متن کاملThe Theorem Prover Satchmo
Satchmo is an automated theorem prover for rst-order predicate logic. Its reasoning paradigm, model generation, is more powerful than the traditional refutation paradigm. Satchmo can be seen as an inference engine for expert systems capable of handling not only constructive and deenite speciications, but also normative and indeenite ones. The implementation of Satchmo in Prolog is possible in a...

5 prove(Lit,[Next|UnExp],Lits,FreeV,VLim) :prove(Next,UnExp,[Lit|Lits],FreeV,VLim). plain that there are sparse applications of the techniques they develop. One reason might be that implementation-oriented research favors huge and highly complex systems. It is hard to see how to apply these besides using them as a black box. Adaptability, however, is an important criterion for applying techniqu...
